Why You Need A Blog

Why-You-Need-A-Blog

Do you have a blog on your website?

Having a website is incredibly important to allow customers to find your business online and learn important information about your company. But one thing that people often overlook when building their website is including a blog.

Having a blog means that you are consistently adding new material to your site. This helps with your ranking on search engines which prefer to return sites with new, and presumably current, information before returning websites that haven’t been updated in a long time. Another important thing to help your SEO (search engine optimization) is having quality content that is relevant to your business. If you are posting useful information to a blog about your company, you can’t help but use key words that the search engines will use to return your site to people who are searching for businesses like yours.

Blogs also allow customers to get a more in-depth understanding of your company. People are more likely to do business with people and companies that they know. By giving customers a behind the scenes view of your company or providing them with advice that they can use, you are building a relationship with your current and potential customers. Having information on your blog that people want to share with their friends and colleagues will also increase your company’s exposure and help your ranking on search engines.

If a lot of people are sharing information from a website, the search engines see the links and assume that the websites must be worth showing to people searching for those topics. By having a blog that is useful and well respected, you will help increase the search engine rankings of your website overall.

Some people don’t want to have a blog because it’s “just one more thing” they have to do. But having a blog doesn’t have to be as overwhelming as all that. You don’t have to post every single day. As long as you’re posting on a consistent schedule so people who read your blog can know when to expect the next post, you’re fine. I’m posting on a once a week schedule right now. You could even post once every couple weeks if your posts are a little longer and really full of useful information.

What about you? Have you noticed a difference between having a blog on your site and not having a blog?
